  • Tropico de Nopal Gallery Art-Space 1665 Beverly Boulevard Los Angeles, CA, 90026 United States (map)

Please join ACTA for our 2016-17 Traditional Arts Roundtable Series in Los Angeles County. The Series is designed to strengthen intercultural arts networks and to offer opportunities for traditional and tradition-based artists and arts advocates to learn from one another through intimate discussion, technical assistance, skill-building, networking, and sharing community-based arts and culture. The Traditional Arts Roundtable Series in Los Angeles County will offer programs throughout the year at various arts venues.

Turntables and Traditional Music: Exploring Multiculturalism Through Vinyl Records.
A roundtable discussion with some of L.A.’s most influential world music DJs. As collectors of rare vinyl recordings and curators of long-running dance gatherings, DJs wield enormous influence on a community’s exposure to international/traditional music that rarely gets airplay on mainstream radio. Exploring world musical soundscapes, our featured guests are part of a generation of DJs and musicians who have been at the forefront of the Los Angeles global music scene.

Join us for some light refreshments, a lively discussion and an “all-vinyl” sharing event. Bring your favorite record to share!
