Baladi Choreography "Taqsim" with Talin from Germany

Talin (Germany) will be teaching a “taqsim” choreography with an instrumental melody on January 26th, 2017 at the L. A. Bellydance Academy. In the beginning of the class there will be a brief theory about Baladi dance and then some technique and then the routine.

Talin's Bio
Thanks to her oriental heritage Talin is a very emotional and expressive dancer with a natural oriental charm and elegance. She is a graceful dance artist and a qualified instructor and choreographer. Since childhood Talin has been exposed to oriental dance and was extremely passionate about the dance. This passion triggered Talin to learn ballet and oriental folk at the age of ten.

In 2002, Talin started her oriental dancing career with world renowned dancer and choreographer, Adam Basma, and joined the “Adam Basma Oriental Dance Company” in Los Angeles where she was featured as leading performer and soloist for various show and events, and many other events. She frequently appeared in numerous wedding celebrations and many other events in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood areas. She performed at luxury hotels and resorts. In 2005, she danced along with Adam Basma’s group at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for the famous King Tut Exhibit Tour. Talin is a supporter of cultural events and danced at many venues, such as Arab American Medical Association, Arab Community Cultural Festival, and American Lebanese Cultural Festival along with the Adam Basma dance group. In 2007, Talin made an appearance as an oriental dance instructor on an episode of MTV’s “NEXT” TV show. Talin’s professional performance have also taken her to Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, and Pittsburgh.

From 2005 to 2011 Talin yearly traveled to Egypt to explore the place from where the oriental dance originated. There, she intensified her training in various styles of oriental dance, especially Egyptian style and studied the history of the dance and music. In Egypt, she was trained by a number of internationally reputable choreographers and dancers, such as Raqia Hassan, Dina, Randa Kamel, Dr. Mo Geddawi, Nabil Maboruk and Momo Kadus.

Talin has been teaching for many years as the leading instructor at the Adam Basma Dance Company . She also taught a “Ahlan Wa Sahlan” dance festival in Cairo and 2009 and 2010. Her love and commitment to the dance motivates and inspires her students of all ages. In her dance Talin interacts with her audience and make them become part of her emotions and performance.
