On June 7, 2014, Cairo ShimmyQuake (CSQ) Belly Dance Festival erupted. Dancers, vendors, old and new friends went crazy. Attendees were awed by the variety of performances and workshops to choose from. The international flare, along with such a creative environment left audiences wanting more. The amazing response led to CSQ adding a night show extravaganza the following year. Encouraging positive feedback inspired Diamond Pyramid & Marta Schill Kouzouyan to continue with their endeavor. In the following years, CSQ returned to Glendale and made more of an impact. More vendors and workshops were added, yet prices remained affordable for students, fans, and enthusiasts alike.
