Egyptian Bellydance improv workshop with Aziza Isaac
In this workshop we will translate the classical Baladi song Taht El Shibbak (under the window) by Singer Fatme Serhan.
This is a fun, flirty and express your self in the moment song. We will discuss ways this song can be used to engage your audience, recognize commonly used words that you can interrupt, and feel comfortable improvising using traditional Egyptian gestures.
This song is one of many favorites for Bellydancers and is definitely one that is performed live at all the night clubs and loved by the audiences.
We will work with different ways of approaching a Taqsim , short combos , traveling steps, traditional arm and hand gestures, intricate movements with your head , shoulders, hips and figure 8s. This workshop is great for anyone wanting to take on a classical Egyptian song and interpreting it through the spirit of their dancer. Open to all levels
