Jennelah has been performing, in one way or another, since
the age of 10.  Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jennelah’s
early artistic career focused primarily on acting & musical
theatre, with the use of the body as an expressive tool for
performance.  In 1998, Jennelah was invited to a girl’s night
out at a local middle eastern restaurant in Los Angeles and
was bitten by the bug of
Belly Dance.

Since 2003, Jennelah has studied Middle Eastern dance with
an ardent fervor to learn and become as familiar with the
subtle nuances and beauty of this exotic and gorgeous art as
possible.  Dancing has seeped into her entire being, and
belly dancing is her most favorite form of expression.
Jennelah began studying belly dance in Washington DC,
working with a variety of incredible dancers from very
different backgrounds of Middle Eastern and Western
dance.

She was a member of the prestigious Silk Road Dance
Company in Washington DC, where she studied and
performed a wide variety of dances from China to the Middle
East.  Some of the dance styles she worked with included
Uzbek and Tajiki folk dances, Turkish, Persian classical and
folk, and a little Bollywood just for fun!  See www.

A couple years ago, Jennelah decided to return to LA and has
since taken her bellydance to the next level – studying
extensively with great dancers and Middle Eastern
musicians.   She has performed as a solo artist in LA, as well
as being a member of Anisa’s Oriental Beledy Troupe.
Jennelah absolutely adores live music and seeks it out
whenever & wherever possible.   She is committed to using
her dance as an enhancement and one of the instruments to
a band or orchestra.

Today, Jennelah focuses on Egyptian style, and incorporates
her folk knowledge and modern experience to create her
own flowing, sensuous style.  She also studied Turkish dance
& some folk dance in Morocco, which she likes to
incorporate into her solo dance & choreography.

Jennelah finds true bliss in teaching Middle
Eastern dance.  She has a simple-yet-fun
approach to teaching and loves working with new
dancers.  She likes to find ways to articulate the
dance, using fun & accessible analogies.
Positivity, humor & focus on attitude & beauty are
essentials in her classes.  She currently teaches
several weekly classes at The Jade Apple in North
    Hollywood.

Jennelah’s Live Music dance parties feature live
Arabic & Turkish music, incredible performances
& open dancing for everyone and are a chance
for anyone to get up and have fun with live
    music.

You can always find Jennelah at her
yoga studio, The Jade Apple.  Come on
by and take a yoga, meditation or
dance class and say hello anytime!
"The moment you step on to the
stage or in to the class, make
everything look beautiful.

Whether you are performing or
just rehearsing, always remember:
pretty hands, nice posture &
beautiful smile!"
