RANIA
Rania is a professional, multi-award winning Belly Dancer
who has been dancing for most of her life. She is also an
AFAA Certified Instructor, which gives her dancing amazing
stamina, and her teaching a strong focus on body
mechanics.

Although she is Greek and grew up surrounded by Belly
Dancing and Greek ethnic dancing, she chose to study the
dance formally in Jr. High School. She has studied Middle
Eastern Dance from teachers in New York, Connecticut,
Boston and California, then she traveled to Egypt to study  
in the land where it all began.

Rania's style is fast, percussive, graceful, passionate, and
mesmerizing. She is mastered in both Egyptian and Turkish
styles. She performs and teaches both styles, as well as
floor work, stomach work, veil/wings, zills, sword, cane,
Zar, Khaleegy, Persian Dance, and Karsilama.

Rania won the Bellydancer of the Universe Competition for
the Year 2000, winning both the Universal Championship
and People's Choice Awards, then returned in 2002 to win
the Egyptian Championship!

Rania has performed belly dancing for MTV, ABC News Los
Angeles, NBC Extra, and  for large audiences and sold-out
Solo Theater Shows. She toured with the original line-up of
the Bellydance Superstars. She has been interviewed by
Cosmopolitan, Forbes, Prevention, Shape, Style and Oprah
magazines, and she was featured in the June 2004 issue of
Women's Health and Fitness and the September 2005
Fitness Magazine.

Rania currently has 16 Bellydance Workout, Instructional,
and Choreography videos on the market today, including
her Bellydance for Weight Loss series. One of her titles,
Pure Sweat, was chosen by Essence Magazine as being
one of the Top Four Workouts Videos of 2003. The
Bellydance for Weight Loss Series was voted in the Top
Ten Best Workouts of 2004 by the St. Louis Post.

Rania is author of the book "Bellydance for Fitness",
available in stores and on
Rania's website. Rania travels
all over the world teaching Bellydance, Ethnic Dance,
Choreography and Fitness.

When spinning or turning, think about
squeezing the inner thighs together and
tightening the abs. This will keep your
weight over your center of gravity so
your turns will be faster, more precise
and balanced.
